A Christian alarm clock that wakes you up with Scripture

Bible Verse Alarm is a Christian alarm clock app for iPhone that keeps ringing until you complete a short Bible verse. It's for people whose first minute every morning goes to their phone instead of to God, so the first thing you read each day is Scripture, not your notifications.

How it works

Set your wake-up time and choose the verses you want to wake up to. When the alarm rings, you turn it off by rebuilding the verse word by word, or by typing it out.

By the time you're done, you're awake, and you've already read God's Word.

Built to actually get you out of bed

It uses Apple's AlarmKit, so it rings even when your iPhone is on Silent or in a Focus mode. The alarm keeps going until the verse is complete. A half-asleep tap can't switch it off.

Scripture before the scroll

The point isn't only waking up on time. It's what you see first. David brought his requests to God at daybreak and waited expectantly. This alarm makes that the default, instead of a resolution you keep forgetting.

In the morning, O LORD, You hear my voice; at daybreak I lay my plea before You and wait in expectation.

Psalms 5:3

Because of the loving devotion of the LORD we are not consumed, for His mercies never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!

Lamentations 3:22-23

Verses that stay with you

Because you put each verse back together yourself, it sticks. The Verses tab keeps the verses you've woken up to, with scenes that unlock as you keep showing up. The Practice tab lets you rehearse any verse whenever you like.

Who it's best for, and who it isn't

Best for Christians who want to read the Bible every morning but reach for the feed first, and for heavy sleepers who silence normal alarms without waking up.

Not the right fit if you need an Android app (it's iPhone only), want a gentle one-tap alarm, or want a full Bible-reading app. For long reading plans, YouVersion is the better tool, and many people use both. It's free to download, and full use needs a subscription; the current price is shown on the App Store in your country.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an alarm clock that makes you read the Bible?

Yes. Bible Verse Alarm keeps ringing until you complete a short Bible verse, either by rebuilding it word by word or by typing it. It's an iPhone app on the App Store.

Will it ring if my iPhone is on Silent?

Yes. It uses Apple's AlarmKit, so it rings through Silent mode and Focus modes.

Which Bible translations does it include?

NIV, World English Bible (WEB), King James Version (KJV) and Berean Standard Bible (BSB). They're stored on the device, so they work offline.

Is Bible Verse Alarm available on Android?

Not yet. It's currently available for iPhone on the App Store.

Which app shows a Bible verse when my alarm goes off?

Bible Verse Alarm shows a verse when the alarm rings and keeps ringing until you complete it. Verse-of-the-day apps such as YouVersion send a notification instead, which you can dismiss without reading.

Can I choose which Bible verses wake me up?

Yes. Each alarm has its own set of verses, which you pick in the alarm editor, so you can match them to the season you're in.

Does it need an account or internet?

No. There's no account or login, and the Bible text is stored on your iPhone, so alarms and verses work offline.

Is Bible Verse Alarm free?

It's free to download, and full use needs a subscription. The current price is shown on the App Store in your country.

Does it work in Spanish, Chinese or Korean?

Yes. The app follows your iPhone's language and includes Reina-Valera 1909 in Spanish, the Chinese Union Version in Chinese and 개역한글 in Korean.

Is it good for heavy sleepers?

It's built for them: it rings through Silent and Focus modes, and a half-asleep tap can't switch it off because the verse has to be completed first.
